Trained Abilities:
Zanjutsu: Ameno is skilled in Zanjutsu, as it is taught in the Hōzōin as a self-defense skill and as a form of meditation. However, she opts not to use actual Zanjutsu in battle. She prefers to use her family's style.
Shin Hōzōin-ryū (真宝蔵院流; True Hōzōin Style): Although she was Setsuko Hōzōin's child via concubine, Ameno was still a Hōzōin by birth. Thus, she was allowed to be taught the family martial arts. The style is very similar to the mortal Hōzōin-ryū (as it was founded by a rogue member of the family), but it takes advantage of the semi-immortal bodies of the Shinigami. It also is not just a style of sōjutsu The style is split into four categories: sōjutsu (槍術; Art of the Spear), kenjutsu (剣術; Art of the Sword), kyūjutsu (弓術; Art of Archery), and nisorijutsu (二刀術; Art of Two Swords). Ameno was taught the standard three of kenjutsu, kyūjutsu, and sōjutsu. She is skilled in all three.

Determinator: Although not really a skill, Ameno has pushed herself to the brink of breaking multiple times. She's hurt herself to the point of needing bedrest. Why? To improve herself. Ameno does not feel worthy of her last name, and so she needs to prove it. Although most everyone in her family says that she's perfectly fine for her status, she understands the weight of being part of one the Four Great Noble Houses.

Shikai Abilities: Yoake no Mai transforms into a naginata, also retaining its signature red blade. The primary ability of Yoake no Mai is to create fire from around its blade. It's pretty simple what she can do with it. She can shoot it out with slashes or coat the blade in flames. However, she does have one unique ability. Yaketsuku Kekkon Yubiwa (焼け付く結婚指輪; Searing Wedding Band) is formed when she spins her naginata while the blade is wreathed in flames. Once the ring is completed, she can use her naginata freely. These can be sent out like her waves of fire, or she can have it orbit her. Ameno prefers the latter because she can add more rings. At three rings rotating, she has formed the Kidō Tōkatsu (軌道等活; Orbiting Sañjīva), a gyroscope of fire. Maintaining three is her "comfortable" maximum. With focus, she can maintain up to five rings rotating around her. However, she would be unable to cast any Kidō or do anything that requires concentration at that point.

Character Synopsis
Ameno is the Third Seat of the Thirteenth Division. She idolizes both her older half-brother, Toshizō, and her Lieutenant, Haruna Senju. She wishes she had both of their confidences and skills, but she needs to learn that she can't get by just by copying what they do. She has to be her own person.

Ameno is not quite a Lieutenant in terms of her combat prowess overall, but she's close to being considered for a Lieutenant's position. She's exceptionally skilled with a sword, polearm, and even with a bow.
