Vizard Character TemplateBasic Information† Name: Tsubine Shirazumi (白泉 鶴火音)
† Nicknames/Aliases: The Outsider; Traitor
† Appearance Age: Late-20s
† Actual Age: 988
† Gender: Male
† Height: 6'3
† Weight: 220lbs
† Appearance:Character Power Set† Equipment: Unkeyed Denreishinki: Tsubine has a Denreishinki like a normal Shinigami of the Gotei 13. He obtained it from the black market. While it can be tracked to a degree, it always gives off the wrong location.
† Trained Abilities:
- Zanjutsu & Swordsmanship: "A sword is more than a tool, it is a way of life. You devote yourself to it, it will devote itself to you." Tsubine doesn't show it off much, preferring to use his blade at the last moment, but he happens to be one of the best swordsmen to walk through the Seireitei. Tsubine's normal style is known as Kaisō-ryū (櫂鞘流; Oar Sheath Style), where he keeps his Zanpakutō in its sheath, beating on his opponent with the sheath instead of cutting them down. Tsubine's actual sword style is known as Seppenzuki-ryū (雪片釁; Smearing Snowflakes with Blood Style). It is a purely-offensive style, utilizing the lack of a Tsuba to its fullest. An onlooker once described it as if it looked like he was "trying to paint a single snowflake red while leaving the others pure and white."
- Hakuda: "I don't need a fancy punch to clean a punk's clock." Tsubine is okay with hand-to-hand combat, but it's little more than just enough to keep him from breaking his hand when punching someone.
- Hohō: "I like to think I arrive just in time, all the time." Tsubine is skilled in Shunpo... to a degree. He's incredibly fast when using Shunpo, but he never can get the landing down right. He either overshoots or undershoots, so he makes use of his legs to get where he needs to be most of the time.
- Kidō: "Kidō is simply expressions of reiryoku... just more explode-y than other expressions." Tsubine wouldn't seem like the type to know how to even spell Kidō, but he is able to identify all non-Forbidden Kidō. He has a surprising skill in it too, although there are some numbers he should be able to perform that he actually purposely avoided because he found them useless.
- Kaidou: "Knowing me, I'd cut off your leg. Yes, you had a cold, but that's just my cure for it." The last time he tried to do any form of Kaidou, it turned into a Byakurai. If anything, he has a negative in this skill.
- Cooking: "If you want your food to remain food, I suggest looking elsewhere." No.
† Zanpakuto Release Phrase: Rain down
Amegafuru (雨が降る)† Zanpakuto Appearance:† Zanpakuto Spirit Appearance: † Shikai Name: Hatsuyuki (初雪; First Snow of the Season)
† Shikai Appearance: Hatsuyuki's weapon is not a spear, but neither is it a sword. Tsubine calls it more of a scepter, but that's just him. It has a blade of a katana with three jagged protrusions above the tsuba, but it is mounted on the handle of a short naginata. Tsubine wields it more as a katana, using the extra handle as a backup if need be. The most subtle change in the appearance is that the blade seems to covered in condensation, with droplets constantly dropping from the blade's edge.
† Shikai Abilities: Hatsuyuki is an ice-type Zanpakutou, based around the droplets of water formed alongs its blade. When swung, the droplets fly off as if they were normal water droplets. However, they are actually closer to being "seeds" than water. Upon contact with a solid surface, the droplets freeze and spread about two inches away from the point of contact after one round. This ends up appearing like a very spiky flower. The
Hibana (氷花; Ice Blossom) are usually not deadly on their own. However, they are rarely alone. Each droplet will sprout a Hibana, meaning that eventually, the target will be covered in these icy protrusions. The Hibana will slow down the areas they hit, as the freezing will lock joints in place and just be awkward to move with. Each Hibana reduces agility and speed in that particular area by 5 points, which translates into decreasing overall agility and speed by 1 points. However, the ice is thick, increasing durability in that area by 10, and overall by 1. Currently, Hatsuyuki produces enough condensation for 3 Hibana per post. If the blade is not swung, Hatsuyuki's condensation stacks up to a total of 9, after which the condensation is too much and it simply drops off of the blade without any chance of it being swung.
Hyōkyoku (氷棘; Frozen Thorn): On the back of Hatsuyuki's blade, there are three cross-shaped blue protrusions. These seem to just be decor, but they are one of the strongest abilities of this Shikai. The wielder can pull off the protrusions and throw them. Upon contact with a solid surface, the Hyōkyoku explodes outward, creating a large Hibana about 10 yards in diameter. This engulfs anything caught in it, leaving them as they were when the explosion is set off. The trade-off for this is that there are only three per release. They do not grow back. Once the third detonates, the Shikai is re-sealed.
† Bankai Name: Hyōgen no Ran'ō (氷原の嵐王; Storm King of the Ice Field)
† Bankai Appearance: Hyōgen no Ran'ō is twice the length of Hatsuyuki. On one end is a flanged paddle-like protrusion with five Hyōkyoku on either side for a total of ten. The blade is now double-edged and has an extra jagged protrusion compared to Hatsuyuki. Overall, the shape is more akin to an arrow than a polearm.
† Bankai Abilities: Hyōgen no Ran'ō keeps the Hibana ability from its Shikai. It can still only create enough droplets for 3 Hibana per post, but its upper limit of storage is removed. This is because even though the blade itself can only create 3 per post, there is another source—the
Hisame (氷雨; Ice Storm). When Hyōgen no Ran'ō is released, it affects the weather in a 2-mile radius. The temperature shoots to a cold 30°F within 30 yards of the wielder, and it gradually evens out. Thick grey clouds form within two posts of release, and then it begins to rain. This rain is a diluted form of the droplets required for Hibana. Natural rain also freezes, although it does not become part of the Hisame. They form at the same rate, but each one only freezes for an inch away from the point of contact. The wielder is unaffected by the cold caused by Hisame.
Hyōshin (氷震; Ice Quake): When afflicted Hibana, the wielder is capable of immediately shattering the ice—and whatever is inside. This ability requires Hyōgen no Ran'ō's blade to touch the Hibana, which immediately shatters into fine particles, including what was around the Hibana. This can be used once per round.
Hyōkyoku Habataki (氷棘羽ばたき; Frozen Thorn Fletching): An upgrade to the ability to the Shikai, the only changes are the number of Hyōkyoku—ten as opposed to three—and that they regrow at a rate of one per two posts.
Hyōchū Seikyū (氷柱聖弓; Icicle Holy Bow): As mentioned above, the weapon's shape is more akin to an arrow. This is because it
is an arrow. This is Hyōgen no Ran'ō's penultimate move. The wielder creates an oversized crossbow of ice, forming from the arrow itself. The bow takes over the wielder's dominant arm, using the other arm as a brace and for aiming. The wielder then launches the arrow at a target. The arrow explodes upon impact, with an oblong explosion about 300 yards high and 75 yards wide. The resulting explosion freezes anything in the affected area. The shape of the result is fixed in the shape of a ginger flower. Using this immediately reseals the Bankai.
Hibana Hatsuga—Nageki no Sōgen (氷花発芽・嘆きの草原; Ice Blossom Germination—Meadow of Lamentation): Not Yet Achieved
† Inner Hollow Appearance:† Hollow Mask Appearance: † Hollow Abilities: Tsubine takes his Hollowfication extremely seriously. If he uses it, then it's a fight to the death. He loathes having to use it, but he knows it's a well of power. He'll have to tap into it eventually.
- Hierro & High-Speed Regeneration: "People think this is exclusive to Arrancar. It's older than them. Far, far older." When Tsubine is Hollowfied, he has the option to switch between Hierro and High-Speed Regneration. These function identically to the Arrancar skills of the same name and are affected by abilities as though they were Hierro and High-Speed Regeneration, although it does not add a skill to his sheet. If he uses Hierro, Tsubine's Durability increases by 10 points. When he's using High-Speed Regeneration, his Endurance increases by 5 points and his black tattoos turn red until the regeneration is complete. Unlike an Arrancar's High-Speed Regeneration, it is actually incredibly painful. As body parts regrow, they are outlined in crimson electricity. Currently, he can not regenerate from an instantly-fatal wound like his head being smashed in with a hammer. It is notable that Tsubine can use his High-Speed Regeneration at 25% capabilities when he is not Hollowfied.
- Cero: "Unlike Kidō, a Cero is only capable of destruction. So know what it means when I have to use one." Tsubine has a good skill with Cero, but he's incredibly hesitant of using them. Tsubine's Cero are blue with a white outline.
- Cero Cegrador (Blinding Zero): "What comes next, that's on you. You're going to see what the purest white looks like, and that'll be it." The only Cero variation Tsubine has, and it's something he absolutely hates having to use. It is roughly on the scale of a Gran Rey Cero, but it travels in a wide arc that continues to expand, using the reiryoku within it to increase its size until it is too thin to keep its shape. It is a pure white, roughly the opposite of vantablack.
Character SynopsisTsubine is the former right-hand man to the leader of the Mikazuki. He left after a falling out with that man, exiled and flagged a traitor. Afterwards, he started wandering about in the Rukongai—eventually meandering his way into the Seireitei. It was there that he has met—and befriended—many of the high-ranking officials. He won a bit of J. Saionji's trust after giving him some confidential information about a semi-sanctioned raid about to go down from the Mikazuki. This saved quite a few lives, and people have asked him to join the Gotei—he doesn't actually want to join the Gotei, however. He doesn't believe either of the groups are right and he doesn't think he alone could do anything to get either group to be on the right path.
The guy is a smartass, sometimes crude, and more than any of that, he's a shithead. It's not entirely a surprise to see him relaxing on a Captain's couch if he has something he wants to talk to them about. There are never signs of a break-in. None of the gates report ever letting him in either, but he has enough friends in high places to keep him in there. He's a cocky sonnuvabitch capable of pulling of incredible feats of pure destruction. He also likes to flirt and finds an annoying pleasure in making women blush. Tsubine is seen as calm, cool, and collected. He's suave and commanding. He's generous and cares about his community. He is, overall, a good person. This would be great if most of it wasn't faked. Tsubine has a great amount of confidence, but he always goes to bed wondering if the decisions he made were the right ones. He knows how much his word affects and that terrifies him.
Now that it's available knowledge, Tsubine has a younger sister, Eira, that he has kept hidden from both the Gotei and Mikazuki "for her own safety." She, like him, has the family curse and is a Vizard. There aren't many people Tsubine would even consider putting above Eira in his priority list, as she's the only blood family he has left.
