Reishi Expert: Asra is perhaps the foremost expert on Reishi This doesn't mean he is a scientist. Swapping up an example I have used previously, he knows about how an internal combustion engine works scientifically, but he knows the best way to maintain, repair, and utilize it. He can tell Reishi from various areas apart, as well as who or what the Reishi belonged to—approximately.


Zanpakuto Name: Hanshakage (反射影; Reflected Shadow)

Shikai Abilities:

Asra has done a good job at disguising what Hanshakage does. Although it may appear as though he's firing energy attacks, it's not quite so simple. He's taking the Reishi in the air and replicating it. The replica Reishi is repurposed. By using one of the three Tokens on either of his blades (for a total of six), he can extend the length of that blade with Reiryoku for one post.

In actuality, Hanshakage's main ability is far more devious. Again, Hanshakage's ability is the duplication of Reishi. Although the abilities mentioned before are applications of this practice, the main application is that of Reimei (隷鳴; Servant of the Echo). This is done by taking duplicated Reishi and placing it into a suitable host. For some, it is a Gigai. But mostly, it is a Reigai. Reigai are to Mod Souls as Gigai are to Shinigami. When the copied Reishi is placed into a Reigai, the Reigai takes on the appearance, personality, and memories (up to one hundred years prior) of the original. This also grants them access to a copied version of their Zanpakutou. The main limitation of Reimei is that it can only be done with one source of Reishi once. Therefore Asra can't make an army of Lilith Blake Reigai for example.

Bankai Name: Kaerikugō Kagemusha (返六合 影武者; Returning Cosmos Shadow Warrior)
Bankai Appearance: No change.
Bankai Abilities: Kaerikugō Kagemusha is the embodiment of Asra's innate desire to "live in this moment forever." He does not want to die again. And yet as the future goes on, his chance of death increases. And so Kaerikugō Kagemusha took that and rolled it up into this Bankai. His Bankai only has one ability: Taisaku Zantō (大作残党; Epic of Remnant). Taisaku Zantō is a zone that Asra and one other are forced into. The two are swallowed by an expanding black ball before it contracts into the size of a golf ball. That orb cannot be moved once it is in a location. People pass through it as if it weren't there. Inside, however, things are very different. It is not cramped. No, it seems almost infinite.

Taisaku Zantō records and replays what happens within it. Both can die, but neither will actually die. In a sense, their bodies die, but their spirits do not. They will be forced to relive death after death. Speech after speech. Eternity upon eternity. All until one of them gives up. Time flows at a vastly different rate in there. Although someone could spend thousands of years (effectively) within it, ten seconds or ten minutes will pass outside. To put it in layman's terms: "Dormammu, I've come to bargain." Asra and his opponent are forcred into that scene from Doctor Strange.

Weakness: Taisaku Zantō has only two weaknesses besides breaking its user. The first is spilling Asra's blood on the sphere from the outside. It could be as little as a drop.The blood will turn the sphere red before shattering like it was made of glass. Doing so will destroy his Bankai. The second is from the inside—stabbing Asra with Kaerikugō Kagemusha in the heart. Doing so will not kill Asra, but it will leave him mortally wounded if he doesn't get treatment. If Asra is killed by this effect, he does not go back into the Soul Cycle.

Hollow Abilities: Asra does not use Hollow abilities like a normal Vizard due to his unique soul structure. Each usage of a Hollow ability gives him a stack of Hollow Bleed. Each stack of Hollow Bleed reduces his Hollow control by 10. When it reaches 0, Asra re-Hollowfies and runs berserk. Asra is able to use Cero without his mask as well, but it comes with a great risk. When fired that way, Asra receives five stacks of Hollow Bleed at once. Hollow Bleed lasts for the duration of the thread or one entire night. Asra can lessen this time by half by spending the night under the stars.

Character Synopsis

Asra el-Sayed is the leader of the Mikazuki. He's not meant to fight head-on until major stuff needs to happen, which is why his Zanpakutou is balanced the way it is. He's a plot character when it comes to his Zanpakutou, but he's still just as capable without it. He's a man who holds many secrets, but there is one thing that he has made clearer than anything: he abhors the Gotei 13. He doesn't give his reasons why, but he has become a vocal opponent of them—parroting the thoughts of others who feel oppressed by the rule of the Gotei 13.

In actuality, all he wants is a better version of the Soul Cycle and how its balanced. However, the Gotei 13 won't allow anything of the sort. He fights to bring about a better transition between life and death, and he's prepared for the sacrifices he must make.
