»Zanjutsu Master: After hundreds of years, and training as part of the zero division, his Zanjutsu skills are considered unparalleled. As this is his primary way of fighting, Shinji's primary method of combat was naturally close quarters due to his zanpakuto power. As a member of the zero division, it is of no surprise his skill with Zanjtusu.

»Kido Master: Alongside his skill in Zanjutsu, his secondary and incredibly powerful skill is with Kido. Although less practical with long incantations, he's shown to forgo long incantations entirely on 90's level Kido. If he were to use a fully powered Kido with full incantation, due to his immense reiatsu, the devastation could be terrible.

»Strong Willed: Though she lacks any natural defenses and shielding abilities, Xiang's greatest defense lays in her ability to push on through normally overwhelming mental exhaustion. So while her physical durability might be average at best, her ability to push on past mental barriers is a great asset in her durability as a whole.

»Hohou Skilled: Her agility is far from mediocre, and though her strength and sword fighting is her most physical attribute, her shunpo skill is quite advanced. Though she is agile and quick, her strength in houhou isn't her greatest asset, and mostly takes the form of her attack speed over general movement.

»Deep reiatsu pool: For a vice-captain, her pool of reiatsu is actually considered quite deep. This gives her quite a bit of stamina, and allows her to be a rather fearsome opponent to try outlast.

».Kidou inept: Xiang has very minimal concept of Kido. Every single time she has tried, not only has it blown up in her face (literally), but it's fizzled out and done more damage to her than the target. As a result, this also makes her Kaido inept as well, relying on primitive means of healing.

The Zanpakuto gains 5 small holes along the blade, as well as a metal ring at the hilt end of the katana. Once this starts spinning, his shikai begins to activate. Alongside it's appearance changing, the sword begins to expel a faint pink mist that covers the battlefield. After a few moments, everyone in the vicinity will begin to see a pink haze, and smell a pleasant aroma.

»Shikai Abilities: Shinji gains a few new abilities in his shikai.

Sakasama no Sekai (逆様の世界, Inverted World): Sakanade's main and most terrifying power is not immediately obvious. The pink mist that is expelled from the Zanpakuto quickly accumulates upon the battlefield, and surrounds his opponent and himself. The moment they smell that pleasant aroma from the pink mist, they have fallen under Sakande's spell. When under it's effects, you are subject to an optical and physical illusion. Up, down, left, right as well forward and backwards are all reversed. Thought it's not just the senses that are reversed, the opponents eyesight, direction of incoming attacks, and the location of injury is also inverted.

Sakanade's power isn't something to take lightly. Even if you know it's power, processing the variables about how the attack is really coming is very difficult. Especially when fighting comes down to instinct and pure reaction, adjusting ones reactions to combat this power becomes very difficult, if not impossible. Alongside reversing these senses, it also effects the equilibrium of those it infects. This means it can cause severe vertigo, confusion, disorientation of even nausea. Atop of this, Shinji has also trained himself to speak backwards so the opponent can understand what he's saying, because even his speech is reversed to those under it's effects.

Upon activation of his bankai, underneath Shinji's feet sprouts giant nadeshiko petals with him at the center. Once the petals have raised and covered his entire body, his bankai truly begins. The ringed end of the sword swaps from the hilt to the tip of the katana, still sharp as ever.

»Bankai abilities:

The main trait of Shinji's bankai comes in the form of confusion and illusion. When activated, the flowers that engulf his body eventually fade away beneath his feet, and for as long as the bankai is active, EVERYONE in the surrounding area will be affected by it's power.

Once activated, everyone in range of his reiatsu will fall under a terrifying illusion. The illusion, put simply, is a reversal of "allies and enemies." Unlike his shikai with reverses the senses, his bankai quite literally reverses the very idea of allies and enemies in their heads. The arrancar that just started attacking you? When this bankai is active, they will turn on each other and rip each other to shreds. The true power of this bankai lies in the ability to create pure chaos, but the problem arises when fighting in range of anyone else. This bankai doesn't discriminate against individuals, it treats everyone equally. Thus, if used around friends, it will turn them on each other too. This makes the usage in Seireitei, the Soul King's palace, and the world of the living an impossibility. It's only real usage is when Shinji is alone, surrounded, and must defeat a large number of enemies.

Using this in one on one combat is also questionable. As he might be able to switch the idea of "friend and foe", the effect will only occur for as long as his bankai is active. As it effects anyone in range of his reiatsu, it was instantly turn anyone who enters his range into an enemy (or ally) as well.
Shinji's is said to have one of the only bankai that's banned from ever being used, as it can quite literally turn a society on it's head. In the niche circumstance where he is isolated and able to use it, it can be quite a terrifying power to hold.

This is especially banned from ever being used in the Soul King's palace, as using such a skill there will inevitably cause great chaos to the King he is giving his life to uphold. The drawbacks to this are few and far between, the main being that he cannot differentiate between friend and foe with it's power. Another is that if you are capable of escaping his reiatsu's radius, the bankai's illusion will stop taking effect on you. If you are able to somehow shelter yourself from his reiatsu, you are also capable of dodging the power. But due to the immense amount of spiritual pressure accumulated as a zero division member, escape from such a power is incredibly difficult.




Hirako Shinji had been given the nickname "The Inverted Death God" at a young age. From his time in the Gotei 13, Shinji had spent majority of his time as a social butterfly. He didn't always get along with everyone, but walking among the people and giving that infectious smile to the members of his 5th division always brought joy to him. In all senses of the word, he was a prodigy. Whether it was with Kido, zanjutsu, or his confusing Zanpakuto power; he always excelled. Top of his class. That's why, after just eight years, he was promoted to Captain of the Fifth division. Even if he was promoted to captain, it changed very little about how he treated those around him. He was always a jokester, someone who liked to have fun, but above all else, cared deeply for his fellow Shinigami. That's why he talked with them. Probably more than any captain at the time, Shinji connected with his squad on a personal level that nobody before him had.

This sort of personality had proven to be his downfall on multiple occasions, but none more so than when his Hollow infected his being. On an expedition in the world of the living, he was tracking a group of Arrancar alongside his lieutenant, but kept falling flat with leads running cold. It seemed they were always one step behind, and whatever plot the arrancar had ended up eluding them. That was until a smaller woman, about 3/4 of his height appeared before them.
